Possibilities

Possibilities.

Such an effervescent word!

It’s shaking with excitement

Shimmering with lights from ahead

Ready to burst from the adventures inside it

For life to be rich

You have to know it is a journey

Every day new

Possibilities always abounding

And that inspires me…

What will I see today that I didn’t before?

What will I hear?

Who will I meet in these next hours,

whose word might land gently on me?

Like a seed sprinkled.

I want to know…

Will I learn something new

that will take me to new heights?

Will I be the note that’s different

in someone’s song today?

I am inclined to find out…

Will my heart break,

and I’ll learn strength?

Will it weep,

and I’ll learn compassion.

Will it fear,

and then I will grow

Or will it find it needs rest,

because tomorrow really is another day.

Seasons can be heavy

and seem all the same.

But then…possibilities arrive.

My mind employs the power in them.

Bubbling with the unknown.

Overflowing with wonder

And then it is in me, sparkling with hope.
