Post Quarantine

This is what I intend to do,
Once I've broken free of you,
The monotonous, dreary hours,
Lockdown boredom has devoured.
Determined to see it through,
But then, this is what I'll do:

I'll go dancing every night,
Don high-heals and bling so bright,
Invite everyone I know,
To impromptu parties on-the-go,
Yes, believe me, it's true!
Things I never used to do.

I will travel to a distant land.
Vaccine passport firm in hand.
My life's missing at least a year,
But wipe away the angry tear,
And grab back the last few,
That's what I intend to do!

I will fiercely live each day!
Freedom's a mutation away.
But once the frustration has passed,
and I've exhausted energy at last.
I'll be snuggly sitting here with you.
Like we always seem to do.
