Poster Boards and Rotisserie Chicken

Lying in their pens, eating what they're fed

they grow to be sheep and are used for what they shed

"Don't bite the hand that feeds you" they say again and again

but I refuse to be fed that little pill they call ambien.

Mother oh Mother why don't you love anymore?

A kiss on the cheek and she goes to take more

her eyes go so deep but she's lost in some world

like a child distracted by ribbons and pearls.
