The Pouring of Gold

At one time

His mind

Was a cloud-covered sky

Searching for happiness

 No conception of joy

If stars opened up,

He would have hid in the dust

For fear they would find

His gray darkness

Inside

With misery

Contained

That defied the conclusions

Of tries to explain,

Long wait for another

Nothing

Back growing bowed

Till life at its core

Was about

To implode

Then

Without flash of light

Just a stoop

To meet his eyes,

And reaching arm,

A lifting force

Extended from somewhere

With nothing to hide

And to this day, his life remains live

From when one gold heart

Poured through another’s gray.

Stars do not always shine,

But when they do, nothing is hidden

And so they see

One small, torn life

Reaching

With a laugh

For the sky.
