The Power and Freedom to Write

As the sun slowly rises

And gently wakes me with the touch of its ray,

My souls recognizes

The joy and wonder that comes with this new day.

Today is a blank page

Of this chapter

In the story

Of my life.

I rejoice that I have the power and freedom to write

A story of love, adventure, triumph, and light.

I hope to be a hero bringing what is just and right.

To be an advocate for those who aren't able to fight.

To be an artist bringing beauty and color.

To be a generous giver and a genuine lover.

Today is a blank page

Of this chapter

In the story

Of my life.

I get out of bed with a feeling of purpose and excitement.

And with each action, the words compile in alignment.

The sentences weave together and have begun to start.

And paragraphs are developed on the page, like a work of art.

I want not to waste a word, sentence, paragraph, or page.

Thus I thoroughly and unreservedly engage

In this story of love, adventure, triumph and light.

For this is the plot I wholey endeavor to write.
