Power and Parenthood

I wasn't loved

You cheated, lied and hit

I felt the blood run down my cheek

You cheated, lied and swore

It would never

Happen

Again

I gave up

I broke it off

You took my soul for granted

You broke my heart, she was always the one

You said laughing, not me. Not I.

My mother consoled me

Held me close, crying

You are better than

He can ever dream

She gave me my

Power back

That he had

Stolen

I come from a diverse family, every one of my family members has an anxiety disorder, and it gets very frustrating at times. I have suffered in the past from anorexia and self-harm. I am 5 months clean. All I want is my piece of art to share, and a platform to do it on. Thank you.
