The Power of a Bear Hug

If I was ever caught in a tempest or drought

I know something I can't live without

Not my phone, since it's likely to die

Not my laptop, or my favorite apple pie

My father's bear hugs are all I really need

To face any storm, and plant a seed

Of warmth and love in my heart

They provide comfort, a chance to restart

From broken hearts, from lost dreams

Or when things fall apart at the seams

I know I'm not the only one that feels this way

And sometimes you need hugs to keep you sane

No pat on the shoulder

Or no side hugs too.

A bear hug from a loved one is better,

Because it says "I care for you."
