The Power of the Button
Attacked by everyone, and yet by no one.
Surrounded by people, and yet so alone.
The words swirl around my head,
Fat, Ugly, Hate, Stupid.
The power of the button.
So many encouraging words, but none real.
They all want to be my friend, and yet none are friendly.
So many requests on one page,
Accept, Delete, Confirm, Send.
The power of the button.
They share the post, yet don't stand by it.
They promise to stop, but never do.
So many lies surrounding me,
True, False, Right, Wrong.
The power of the button.
I stay true to myself, yet they call me fake.
I try change myself, and now I'm pathetic.
The accusations never disappear,
Sham, Ridiculous, Delusional, Dumb.
The power of the button.
I learn to love myself, and the hate goes away.
I open up, and the loneliness diminishes.
So many words dancing around me,
Love, Believe, Faith, Friend.
The power to delete.
