The Power of a Friend

When I met you

You were just competition.

My goal was constatnly to beat you and allow myself to feel the glory.

But when i realized your true worth

My intentions ever changed.

Your beauty opened a new portal in my life that had never been accessed before.

My life had been full of loss

Of depression

Of lies

Of deciept.

But your love

And happiness

And honesty

And truth

Allowed me to find my genuine self, despite all of the clutter surrounding me.

The power of a friend has more worth than that of first glance.

One has often heard the saying "you don't choose your family"

Which explains why its so crucial to choose your friends.

My best friend is my family

She is my support

She has the shoulder I need to cry on.

That's the power of a friend.
