power i write

Location

My mouth padlocked by the expectations of the world

But my hands running care free

When I talk, not a sound came out

Yet I could scream so loud onto paper

Why was it that I couldn’t speak?

Was I afraid of the harsh realities

That a young girl had no voice in the world

To describe her feelings and longingness

To break the padlock of silence

And make a CHANGE?

Or because I was hushed,

to keep my change a secret.

Poetry gave a silent girl, a powerful voice

to speak as she pleased

to make her own decions

to change the world

to keep no secrets

to be .....FREE

with no restraints

its just my hands, my thoughts and ME
