The Power of Laundering
For some, it’s the start of high school,
For others, it’s learning to drive,
For me, it was learning how to do my laundry
At first, it appeared to be a daunting task,
How much detergent should I use?
What if I mix reds with whites?
What if I don’t use dryer sheets whilst drying my clothes?
I was treading on never-before-seen territory
As I explored the unknown nature of the washing machine,
I grew to know and appreciate the wonders of the machine,
Kids don’t understand the beauty of the washing machine,
I knew I was no longer a child after I washed my first pair of clothes,
I had a newfound respect for the machine that I was once frightened by,
I was a changed man
