Power of Me
I am but a simple poet
bent over her work
time is running out, I know it
but this job is worth the perks
I am but a simple woman
with simple wants and needs
forced to know the omens
into despair I recede
I am but a simple friend
wanting ever so more to be more
I wish his heart I could mend
but in this life, I myself am torn
I am but a simple person
so long had I been not myself
my pain continues to worsen
I find that being myself grants great wealth
I am but a simple lover
wanting only to be loved
but I shan't ever find another
for I have seen the lie of lust
I am but what I am
just simple and never more
than what I am
and this in simplicity, I adore
