POWER OF MY SKIN
Stand still hands up so scared of your skin it's making me FUCK UP!
To dark to be normal, your predators i should arrest you for being tough
NO ! I should arrest you for your BRAVERY, FREEDOM, you don't have the right!
You can't look at me, SPEAK MY LANGUAGE, YOU CAN'T HOLD MY DAUGHTER HAND TIGHT
I think the world is reckless with you in it, maybe we should get rid of you its going to be alright
Laughing at the tv, you think you SMART, PRETTY, INTELLIGENT, you think you got the right to be fine
you can PROTEST, you can speak but we DON'T HEAR YOU! YOU DON'T MATTER
Well..... Sir I'm BEAUTIFUL, SMART, INTELLIGENT. You took our power away and now were back
Insulting my skin because you hurt, your hate for African- Americans will never Lack
We helped you it's okayyy, WE BUILT, WE CREATED, WE GOT THE NAME
YOUR MAD because we still standing, and you couldn't take something you stoled
YOUR MAD US FEEL LIKE NOTHING, AFRAID, ALONE, YOU MADE US BE IN LINE
YOU TOOK OUR ANCESTORS, YOU KILLED MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS, YOU TOOK TIME
you feared my skin
So now i sit back, and we create music and rhyme
YOUR MAD, because we will never disappear, we will always stay in the picture, we will always shine
and for that we will be BIG because MY SKIN AND MYSELF WILL ALWAYS RISE
