Power of petition and repetition
When i saw the petition to remove my school principal, after signing it asked me a question, Why is it important to me? This is my school, this is my future. I don't want to have to be concerned with the cleanliness of my school, i don't want to have the concern of finding mold in my food, or that i don't have clean water to drink. A safe learning environment shouldn't be the focus of a student, it should be his/her studies, to focus on getting an education, and building a future. But myself included and most of the student body at miami sunset can agree that lack of sanitation, pest, yellow water, lack of common resources, are what have brought us to this. This could've been prevented, threatening the students, or just talking about the plans didn't work for Dr.Cox, this isn't over. Don't be afraid to share your voice, we have that freedom, and thats what we all need to know, and thats what needs to be spread not just in our school, that it's okay to call out your school issues. Always in a peaceful way, talking it out, looking for solutions, this petition was a somewhat good idea, but this isn't the whole issue. Now it's time we finish it, and fix what was started. If the alumni or class of 2015 couldn't get it, let's help generations to follow, future graduates of miami sunset, have something better than we did. A safe learning environment that thrives in freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and the will to make something better, and a positive change. Thank you to everyone that has supported us, the student body of miami sunset, thank you for bringing this out, thank you for spreading the word, to not being afraid of your own rights, to protecting what you have and standing up for it and thank you for getting us one step closer to a safer and brighter future.
