The Power of Poetry

Why did I become a poet you ask?

Well it was not a simple task

Poems have the power to create

The power to modivate

The power to help people aspire

The power to take emotions a step higher

Poetry to me is beautiful

It allows people to be truthful

It allows to draw out words on a page

But unlike Photographs these lines never do fade

Instead our minds help these words grow

Into the most beautiful picture you would ever know

So why did I become a poet? You ask

I just wanted to the true show me-- I wanted to unmask

The only way I can truely be free

Is by writing, and reading poetry

Because nomatter what other people may think

I know my poems are in sync

Despite what other people may inquire

I will forever be a unique writer
