The Power of Self

The sun sits high, its heat radiating off my skin.

Absorbing, as I walk steadily through the dew stricken grass.

Ceasing my journey only when I felt the time was right.

Pausing, to look around before I took a seat on the,

cold

damp

earth.

The universe lines up and consumes me

Making my thoughts as pure and lucid as the sky,

painted a soft blue, with little

puffs

of

white

splattered throughout.

The wind whispers through the sky,

morphing each white puff into different characters.

When my world

isn’t

good

enough,

I put my ear buds in.

My iPod puts the rest of the world on mute,

as it drowns out the sorrows found in a summer's day.

This is when I become,

transfixed

in

peace.
