The power of silence

" the power of silence ",the black woman trembles as her whispers are drowned in her tears A handprint on her cheek, fingerprints and all, a memento Her sobs and whimpers , a monologue She sits in solitude in a world where the ears of the masses are deaf to her plights "Woman" , inside your silence, violent voices of despair cry out in agony Your tender tendencies mistook for weakness Your loyalty mistook for desperation Woman you are misunderstood Woman the womb of man kind enough to spare a belly A man to conceive, a man who would abuse A man who would forget the breast and warm embrace Deep inside your eyes, deep in your soul you shackle your voice You restrain the hate and grievances and search for silence ,but who is wise enough to listen to the silence of a woman , shouting out for reprieve Capitalized and immortalised in the ink that is her hands Writing of the love in every warm meal Spoken by her eyes as she straightens her husband's shirt for work Woman, heart bigger than ego Her silence is her voice for in her silence her hands speak of a warrior whose back is stronger than iron , and because of a woman , "I am"
