The Power of a Single Word

Tangible items are fleating and temporary 

The grass below your feet will forever wilt away and die and grow back

Houses will be built and torn down and built again

Cars will be driven and totaled and replaced

But words cannot be replaced

They cannot be taken back or changed or deleted 

Words are the only thing in thing in this world that have real power

They can profess love

They can start wars

They can change minds

They can break hearts

They can be used as weapons

That is why poetry is the most powerful thing in this tumultuous world

Poetry can, will, and has changed the world as we know it

Poetry can save lives by being a true outlet

It saved my life by giving me a voice

Words are the most serious ammunition a person can hold in their arsenal

For they can make or break someone

They can create a nation

Or cause its downfall

For words are the truest form of life
