The Power of Stories

'Twas a lie so true that I didst believe;

'Twas a falsehood so fierce I didst conceive

In heart which knew not what was happiness

And was only greeted with emptiness.

Yet in stories so bold I didst find out

The meaning of life, not power or clout,

But the riches found in loved ones so true,

Relationships of love from me to you.

These were the lessons taught to me from books

From Robin Hood, Frodo, and Goldilocks

To Dumbledore, Proctor, and Sawyer.

These heroes taught me how to live higher.

Yet not just from books were great lessons told.

From television came stories most bold.

A painting can tell a fabulous tell.

Heroes exist in the ring of a bell.

Stories of all types have sparked my own mind

I think I'll tell my own stories in kind.
