The Power within Cinderella

Is always the man saving the woMan?

you know the prince and princess in every story, the former being  male and the latter as woman

right and wrong, no right and left? left for difference, FEAR

Power according to Merriam is a posession of control, authority, or influence over others

In the fairytale of Cinderella, her stepmother is full of power

power to rule, power to destroy, power to control

Cinderella, the loving daughter, innocent so innocent

money there was and along came power, soon after the litte girl's mother has passed away, the father has remarried....down  down it went

put down, mocked, discouraged

heart as gold, warm to the touch, friend to all

how about we reverse

what if Cinderella's father had been the disabled one and her mother bringing home the money through work

how about the stepmother is the sack of money cinderella's father reaches out for

and Cinderella's new stepmom having been kind enough to feed and watch her until of age due to her father's passing

blood is thicker than water as they say

cinderella had been washed down the ice cold river of water from her stepmother

no love no support, just a place to live and barely enough to eat

now the once known heart as gold, nice girl not so much here

heart so cold, full of fear and lack of trust

soon to meet a prince, a prince so handsome and so rich

a maiden filled with beauty, molding herself in the appearance of an elegant swan

placing a holy chaste sheet upon herself to deceive him, to lock him in her grasp

POWER she got through her beauty and charm

this woman saved herself, she did not wait for that sparkly glass slipper to come to her door

Woman for herself, no one else was for her
