Powerless

The heater’s on but

My water’s cold

Streetlights stretch away

From my home

I don’t care,

I’ll live alone

Who said I needed

Someone at home

I can live alone

Don’t need a happy ending

I’ll sit in the dark

See how pretty the world is

The moon shines bright

Through my window

It’s only right that

I love this world

But someone please

Explain to me

How only I have

No electricity

All the earth

Except for me

Understands this

Strangely universal thing

I’m surrounded by

These silly grins

Love pulses through

Their golden veins

When's my time coming?

When can I feel the same?

Well the heater’s on

And my water’s cold

But that’s okay-

I’ll make myself at home.
