A Prayer
Dear Lord,
I've always come to church,
Always believed.
Yet somewhere, somehow,everything went wrong.
All my friends are left behind,
The school I once knew is gone,
Even the church I knew so well disappeared.
I've read the Bible cover to cover,
Paid my tithe,
And still we hardly get by.
We can barely pay rent,
We move city to city,
Jobs and dreams have been long lost and forgotten.
Being the Almighty One that you are,
You have blessed me with new friends,
I still have my family,
We now have bigger and better jobs and dreams.
Thank you for everything,
The good and the bad.
Amen.
