A prayer

Lord, I do implore you

Give strength where I cannot

To love with boundlessness

And never be forgot

I pray to hold the hand

that held mine so tenderly

and never let her fall

as she had never let me

My Lord, I beg you protect

the mother I call mine

Lead her through this life we live

so she may find love divine

Though she may not trust

her heart or mind these days

I know her strength will overcome

the trouble of those ways

Lord, I do thee pray

To hold her heart so dearly

I pray that I might see one day

what she does see so clearly

That I may show your love

as she has shown me

and give to others so

as she has, so fearlessly

I pray that I might find

the strength I see in her

and give the love that in me

she always seems to stir

Lord, she is my mother

the one you entrusted me

and I pray you watch her

with love that only comes from Thee
