A Prayer

God, make me the woman this man deserves

Make me strong for when he’s weak

And tender for when he’s hurt

Make me compassionate when he’s sad

Make me understanding when he’s angry

Make me submissive even when he’s wrong

Make me silent when I need to be

And bold when I need to be

Give me a loving heart, a listening ear

Let me love this man like you love me...

Unconditionally and without reserve

Make me faithful, make me kind

Let your love touch his heart through me

Let me wish forever to be with him and love him as he needs

When he’s lost or tired, give me patience

Give me the courage to speak my mind in love

Make me graceful and kind

Use me to draw him closer to You

Use me to show him your love

I want him to feel safe and comfortable when I’m near

I want him to feel like one of David’s mighty men

I want to give of myself

No matter what he does, or doesn’t do

No matter where he goes or what he says

Make us two become one

Let our souls be intertwined

Let our desire be to serve You

Make me a godly wife, a pillar to lean on

A help -- meet for him

A woman of joy, love, and understanding

A friend, a fellow believer

Make me the woman this man deserves
