A Prayer for Guidance

Oh, You Who direct the winds

With the breath of Your mouth

And shade the autumn leaves

In the colors of sunbeams,

Hear me now,

Little though I am.

You Who swirl the stars around

With the tip of Your finger

(As if the Milky Way

Were Your morning latté)

And splash the galaxies with light

Till they sparkle in Your eyes,

Listen to my voice,

Little though I am.

What does my Lord require of me?

In what way would He have me go?

Does He know

That only He can provide for me?

Does He know

How much I love him so?

Master, Father, Creator, Lord,

Would You take hold my hand now

And lead on before?

I guess what I'm really

Trying to say

Is can You try to forgive me?

Because I don't know the way.

McKenzie Romero

I'm the oldest daughter of the Romero family. I love my God, my family, my friends, and, uh... food. I also like to write little snippets of nonsense when they come to me, so I guess I'm a poet of sorts. (Also: Some of my poems, now that I look back, were legit hormone-fueled... but I posted them anyway 'cause I have OCD and everything must be in its place, so if I wrote it *pbbbt*, it's in there). Thanks for reading my stuff! It means a lot!
