A Prayer To Him

Heavenly Father,

I thank thee for all the strength and faith, You have given me during this time of need

The guidance, the love, the hope

Never understood why man should ever be absent or question Your power

This morning, I read the story “Liberation of Saint Peter” to my men

The story of a man, Peter, being sent to prison by a king

He ordered him to be put to death

Then, at night, miraculously, an angel unbounds him from his chains

Walking him to his freedom

They needed the reminder that You are merciful

And the mercy preserves us from evil and bound us from sin

I wanted to help them see that they are worthy

But they were not the only ones who needed to hear it,

I needed the reminder that I, too, have an angel

An angel of Yours that will release me from my chains

Just like Saint Peter

But how come each morning, I keep finding myself back in prison?

I sleep on Your stories, hoping it would prove my faith in You

It is just not good enough

                However, this cannot distract me

My men need me as much as I need You

Since You were my compass throughout my whole life

I will be the compass that they need

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
