Prayers

The house sits silently except for the hum of the heater                                                            Everyone is asleep but here I lay wide awake                                                                        My mind wanders to a different world                                                                                  One where there are no burdens or mistakes                                                                          A place where everything is serene and restful                                                                      I am one of many who dream of this                                                                                   Yet we only visit in our darkest days                                                                                   When reached it is life's greatest blessing                                                                             Still for most it will remain unattained                                                                                  I forever cherish these sacred moments                                                                               A desire that leads me to my dream
