Prayers and Fights

She pulls him out of hellish nightmares
He calms her fears and chases her scares
When he's hurt she'll slip between swears
And tearful prayers.

He only sees the coming dark of night.
But she basks in the early mornin' light.
Just her face is enough to keep him bright
To make him fight.
