Precious Calling

Children

The soul's simple essence

The proof of our presence

Children

Feeling forgotten

Mocked, chided, and beaten

Children

Sticky and stumbling

Funny and frightened

Help them.

They are only children.

Love them.

Guide them to loving

To dancing and laughing-

Learning.

They hunger and thirst

For the gift that keeps giving.

Looking.

They are looking to us-

do something- I must-

Teach them.

the are ready.

I'll teach them

Not to stand in lines

And blunt their sharp minds

Guide them

To see beyond college

To run after knowledge

Help them

To design a dream

Try hard, and achieve

Teach them.

I am ready.
