Precious life at last moment
You never notice how precious life is until someone sheds tears due to your actions,
contemplating your life on the hospital bed wondering to yourself, “was it worth it?”.
Life is a brittle bone that's just waiting to crackle at any moment given.
Parents and friends cry helplessly as you lay on the hospital bed
the fact that you can hear them gets you like a punch in the gut,
the vibe in the room is powerful, breath-taking, and gut-wrenching
you cry deep on the inside because you hear a familiar voice calling out to you,
but no matter how loud that voice roars the sound continues to diminuendo.
Darkness eventually captivates the very essence of existence,
all you hear now are consistent thoughts within your mind,
sitting there in fetal position for what feels like an eternity.
That is until two tunnels appear from thin air.
One contains the body in which you left behind on the hospital bed,
while the other, a tunnel of dazing white light.
You begin to yell and a crescendoing echo follows prematurely,
sprinting to your hospitalized body, but no matter how fast you sprint,
no matter how much you cry, the tunnel is endless.
The two tunnels begin to oppose in size,
the tunnel with the light becoming larger, while the tunnel with your body shrinking in size.
Meanwhile in the hospital room your body begins to lose control of itself and shut down,
the heart monitor begins to tick like a violent metronome while the room turns to utter chaos.
Parents and friends begin to scream at the top of their lungs,
while the nurses and doctors rush to the scene with no time to waste.
The doctor answers to your body’s cry for help and shocks you with chest paddles,
but each shock leans closer to a light of tranquility,
crying in agony, the shocks surging through your body, slows you down gradually,
closing the gap between you, and the tunnel of light.
After the fourth shock, Time stops.
Calamity that originally filled the environment had ceased,
The tunnel of light, only inches away from you.
The only thing left, is to make the final choice...
You never really understand how precious and fragile life is until you witness it.
harness the power and care for yourself, and life will grant you your second chance.
