Precious Pages

Stealthy.

Quiet.

Discreetly.

I walk.

I creep up.

A wonder lies before my eyes.

Oh the sweet glory.

They are condemned.

But I would gladly welcome them with open arms.

I might be judged.

But who can ignore that soft beckoning?

Their titles seem to jump at me.

‘Receive me’, they seem to say.

I want to say.

I need you to get away from this arena of despair.

I want to say.

You are my saving grace.

But none of this is said.

Not because there’s not enough time.

But because I am stunned by their impeccable beauty.

By the beauty that lies between their covers.

By the worlds which are opened to me through the rustling pages.

And by the fact that I cannot resist anymore.

It is time.
