A Predetermined Fate

If everyone started with an empty slate

And unimportant was your father’s pay rate

Then greatness would be achieved by those who are truly great.

But instead we all enter the world in different states

Some of us with silver spoons and plates

And others with nothing so ornate

It’s so hard for so many to create

A better life, coming from circumstances that usually produce hate.

So while we choose to sit and wait

For more children to suffer a predetermined fate

I say let’s move! We’ve got an education system to update!
