A PREGNANT PAUSE
I’m feeling fat and frumpy,
And in an awful mood,
My husband says I’m grumpy,
And I eat the strangest food.
It wasn’t all that long ago,
I was sylph like thin and fair,
Now none of my clothes fit me,
And I have this tent to wear.
They say that after 36 weeks
I’ll look like Britney Spears,
But she wouldn’t have had fat ankles,
Nor the streaming tears.
I wobble and I waddle,
Jesus penguins have more grace,
Then the hubby says “your radiant”,
I could smack him in the face.
As for morning sickness,
Don’t believe a word they say,
I throw up in the morning,
Then I’m chucking up all day.
I cant stand the smell of coffee,
And my boobs look like balloons,
I have stretch marks, and my back hurts,
And I keep on eating prunes.
Still what’s nine months from a life time,
It’s a tiny price to pay,
When I think of what is coming,
All my troubles fade away.
