Preparation

Cold hand in mine

Bruised and frail

Wires everywhere

Beep Beep Beep

Beep Beep

Beep

Its crowded

I am pulled out of the room

I hear nothing but the noise is deafening

I scream for her

Let me see her

Grandma

One hour goes by

Nothing

Two hours go by

nothing

Tick tick tick

tick tick

tick

There she is, looking exhausted

but her eyes are open

She's still with me

My world is still there

Grandma

My light is still shining

However my own inner light

It now shines brighter

Because I needed to be prepared

To be left without her
