Pressed
There rests a shadow of a broken life
A growing void within my soul
Where lonely voices echo as empty caves of coal
And from the darkness I cannot withdraw
The senseless wearing, tearing, breathing host
From which a budding rose leaves me in awe
A blackbird's mourning crows
Hinder daylight as she grows
With subtle glints of red in shadows old
That say no more of wishes robbed or sanity mauled
Where only thoughts of wilting, crying, shedding petals
Consume her as they pressure down a life distraught
Plates of glass meet her whole
As they softly, blindly shimmer
In the reflected light of a tortured sinner
And slowly close in no heeding of her pleas
For suffocation, asphyxiation, desperation to believe
How no longer damned she may be in her attempts lost to be free
Free from sweet and trusted lies
From behind a pair of hollow eyes
Where her stomach cringes and traumatic heart yet aches
As the fragile plates keep pressing down
With her head throbbing, pulsing, barely living
For she sees no other way as the glass collides
to seal her fate
