He is all I need when I’m down and tossed around He is the starry night, the fighter I need to fight the fire of Life I am so sorry I have hurt You Dear Everyone, I apologize For the cries and broken ties The written Verses are not curses but Blessings I want to please everyone, please forgive me for pleasing everyone but You. What if I’m a failure For failure burns like being trapped in a hot fire in an old house that falls to the ground like a broken marriage What if I lose my love What if I lose my family Does it all really matter? Will the people I hurt forget to love me again? Ye, even though I walk through the valley of the shadow that crawls through my bedroom window at night For I know the plans I have for you to help you lead others to Me Should I let my emotions control me? What if emotions are killing our world like the terrorists kill our lives and our hearts May the music lead me on! Should the music lead me on? And yet, maybe it is all inside of our heads Everything that once happened seems to happen again, history repeats itself and no one can stop it like the train that runs off the tracks of our minds that wander to places they shouldn’t go Where should I go? Should I get a job should I call a cab and flee like the birds of the night sky flee to the morning rise of the Sun? Emotions are like oceans that sweep us away in rip tides and hurricanes Old men need canes even though they used to ski the waters with their perfect legs Why do I hurt Him? Why do I hurt others? Why do I do what I don’t want to do like Paul who landed himself in prison for trying so hard, yet he will win the ultimate Prize even though his eyes were blinded Logic is key The key that unlocks the door to even more confusion and chaos that only emotion can brings us away from We all need a balance, like the balance beam that my love and I play on in our minds as love totters back and forth and back and forth How do I keep that love alive? But I know I must build my hope on that Solid Rock that never fails So thankful am I He never fails Isn’t it funny how music takes so much logic to put together yet only emotion to enjoy? The Music that flows through my veins like the freezing rain that blows through the windowpanes that gains my ever-fading attention Will never wash the warm sunshine from my hair and my stare into the evening Unaware I pray the hurt I cause others will fade into the soft evening wind that tumbles across the sky and prairie like tumbleweed A new day is here, and I can hear the sounds of children laughing and birds singing and a hope that sings louder than all else. And in case there isn’t, I know I am safe by the blood. For the blood that binds mankind to Him is all that matters, so I shall throw away the matters of my life that really don’t matter Nostalgia brings us back to better times But then again I’m not so sure Because we don’t remember that December cold and bitter feeling of old Repression can lead to depression if we are not careful of the things we chose to repress like the dresser that held all of my old treasure boxes For where your treasure is there your heart will be also He is my only treasure May my faith be like a child’s, or I will never get to be with Him Oh to be a child again So maybe in my joy I’ll find that treasure in a field Hide it away And give my all to buy that field Oh to be a child again Pressing Forward
