Pressure

My ears are

Exploding

From the pressure in

My head and

My hearing is

Muted

Everything is

Muffled from my senses and

My ears pop again with a sharp pain and that noise that noise that noise

Ring ring ring ring ring

Ring ring

Ring

ring It won’t stop ring

ring And it’s always there ring

ring It showed up years ago ring

ring And it doesn’t show signs of leaving.

My ears tune it out

Like your eyes do to your nose

But when the pressure comes again

the noise stares me in the face

Like when you cross your eyes to look

At your nose planted on your face

The rest of me is so light

My head is 10,000 miles underneath the sea

The water pressure

Stabbing knives into my ears

Like it does when I swim

In a public pool

And I go under even just a foot

My ears scream at me

Pleading for their lives

Rebelling against the environment

Around me

But my body floats above the surface

Like a bobber on the end of a fishing line

Plunging under

When a fish bites.
