Pretty?

Why am I not pretty?

I see all the other girls

All so pretty.

Looking myself in the mirror

Is such a scare.

Maybe I am pretty?

Am I?

Sometimes, when I look in the mirror

I say to myself

“Wow, I’m so pretty!”

But deep down

I know I’m lying.

I wish I was pretty

Then I wouldn’t think badly of myself

And not be lonely

But that’s just in my dreams

Because I will never be pretty.
