"Prevailing Laughter"
When darkness has risen
And life seems like a confined prison
The echo is the only thing that keeps me up
The voice of my setup, my buildup
When the screams get too loud
When the pain seems to be overcrowded
Hints of amuement cease my pain
Drains me from the fears that I contain
When the thunder lashes out
And the world, portrays itself as a blackout
A glimpse of a chuckle saves me
I'm able to escape, to break free
When hope has vanished and I lose all doubt
There is only one thing that I can't live without
Laughter, a potion of life
My savior from the stake, the knife
Whether stranded on an island
Or frightened by the silence
You are my outlet
When I'm lost and deadset
When I'm tied down and unable to find a release
When the demons have filled my mind, and I can't find peace
Laughter is the only thing that keeps me whole
The only thing that saves me from the unknown
