Pride

There’s really nothing worse Than self assigned dignity Thinking you’re better than everyone else Either talking enough to bore Or refusing to acknowledge others Because you’re time and your respect Is too worthy for the second-rate to behold What makes you superior? Your religion and your soul? You walk and you talk with an air That is degrading Spewing knowledge Showing off Smiling away in your holy sphere You put up that face That is phony and unreal Your gratification exceeds your actions Your self-fulfillment Your misplaced self-respect Your pride Your fucking pride That degrades and intimidates Demeaning myself and the rest of the human race Because your existence is just too good For the rest of us.
