Pride
Beautiful day
Blue sky
Kids playing
Music loud
Quiet
Train sounds
So I thought
Reached for the door knob
A thought ran across my mind
So I stopped before I turned the knob
Looked out the window abd couldn't believe my eyes
Black spinning cloud
I was in disbelief until I realized it was coming toward me
Trees falling people screaming
Ran to the back to tell my brothers
They didn't believe me
3 teens hidden in a closet
It all got silent
Apartment was fine
Still had our lives
Stepped on the porch
3/4 of the apartment complex had fallen
Enemies became friends
Pride was no option
People lost their lives
People lost their houses
We all pulled together
Perfect strangers helped as if they had known you forever
It will always be a tragedy
But I'll always remember the weather before that storm
And the people that took action after
Rest in peace April 27
