Pride ... A moving entity

Proverbs 16:18 New English Translation (NET Bible)

18 Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Pride … a moving entity

It seems so big and is so small when pride is under fire

Emotions deep in hiding somewhere struggle to the surface

I did not think I had that pride for slyly it was covered

With fake shyness and humility covered in inner space

Still, I need to get over it and iron out the wrinkles

It got squeezed severely when really least expected

Now all seems alright again preparing for tomorrow

As pride slipped into space to be later resurrected

Changes come very slow and then slightly inhabits

Can a leopard change its spots neither can I myself

So with pride somewhere in tow, I travel on in time

Until someday, somewhere, somehow I grab it from a shelf
