Pride in My Life

One big gulp, I swallowed my conscious fear Looking over the decisions on to next Not a splash, it seems, no sign of a tear Inside a teddy for someone who wept Cracking under the words no truth was told But a smile she took on for a long while Visiting the past, no story got old The foolish things sat and sang in a pile No need for others to see a man fail I take no envy of the blossom things They told no interest in a short tail Hold my head up high I soon start to sing Eyes are cold but strong. Not a frown, but pride There is no great flaw or burden to hide
