Pride? What Pride?

Pride?  What pride?

I only have a race

That was only given to me

As an indication of disgrace

Oh an eraser-that I crave-

For a degree of maltreatment- I myself save

To entirely eliminate - eradicate

The word race

The tool of disgrace

Used to abuse and obfuscate

I see momentary wins

And losses galore

While perseverance is great

It's victory I implore

The stories of wins are sweet

But are eclipsed by trhe defeat

I want to wave the white flag

And sleep more than 20 people with jetlag

So I have no pride

I only have a race

That was given to me

As an indication of disgrace
