Prince (For Emma)
We were chasing princes
Fireflies burning around us
The beaver was in our way
When we crashed through the bog
And we were kissing frogs
You gave me a sweet prince as a gift
A get well present when I was polluted and sick
A frog that kept a promise
A nagging question
Who should we love
The princes or the frogs
Which are chasing us
Which are kissing us
Which are keeping their promises
Which will dance with us
And kiss us in rain
Even if the weather shouldn’t matter
Although it’s so Audrey
Weak ankles and broken hearts
Broken ankles and weak hearts
Weakening
Breaking
Weak
Broke
Weakened
Broken
From our ankles to our hearts
