Prince(ess)

She was corrupt with the idea of happiness

She was consumed with the idea that all she needed was

A prince to save her from the dragons and castle and awake her from

Her deep slumber

She then woke up

She grew up from the dreams

That had consumed her childhood

In all of its innocence,

Her reality was not what it seemed

Her prince was not who she had hoped for

Prayed for

To save her

“You’ll find your knight in shining armour one day”,

She had been told

Before she was cast aside

And so she waited

Instead of saving herself.
