A Princess Alone

The princess lived alone

In her cottage in the woods

Furry friends to keep her company

She was happy in her solitude

A message came one day

Summoning her to the palace

Her father wanted her to find a husband

Wanted her to conform

To the life of a fairy tale

A queen who didn’t have any say

Just there to make heirs

To be the pretty face of the kingdom

To fill her father's expectation

That she’ll be happy in this role

But she didn’t want a prince

She wanted to be alone

I don't write poetry a lot even though I really love to do it. I'm a band nerd, am in high school, failed my first driving test barely 10 minutes in, and I like music a lot. I want to be a TV/movie editor and have a passion for that field of work.
