Princess By The Sea

I wait for you by the sea

The wind blowing my sorrows away

If only I had boat to find where you really are

I wouldn’t be feeling this way

The stones on the ground look tempting

Where the water always splashes down

You told me you would be back

With three Gaillardias  by now

But if I was being logical

I’d know they’d be expired in your hands

Must I wait for another season to come by

And let my body shiver from the cold

I thought I was your princess

Unlike Ariel or Snow White

I can’t handle the bitter ocean breeze

Or snowflakes that feel like soft tears

But I stand here because you came to me

with a  promise that you’d be back

I’ve heard you fallen with greed

Has money made you weak and forget who you truly are

I know where my soul started off

A poor farmer’s girl with nothing

Nothing but love for you

Here I fly my kite from when we were kids

I was still waiting as time usually flowed

But now my days are dwindling

As I’m no longer with you

If you come back and find the kite flying

I’ve left to earn gold too.
