Princesses

We'll float on top of clouds

like goddesses in gold-stitched dresses

chins turned towards the sky

bathing in the sun

it'll be the perfect day.

Princesses by the world's regard

bow down, yes, bow down.

Let us float on top

on top of the world's worries

let us return to our childhood.

where we had pieces missing

but didn't know it yet.

We weren't innocent

as much as unaware

but it was enough.

It was enough

to float on top of clouds

in our cardboard boxes.

We sent out decrees

from our castles made of sheets

and ate royal grilled-cheese

in the castle kitchen.

And it was enough.

One day we'll float

on clouds, like goddesses

in gold-stitched dresses.
