Princesses Can Save Themselves

In the twenty-first century,

why are we still teaching young girls that they need a prince?

We read them ancient fairy tales written in patriarchial times,

teaching them the wrong ideals.

What we should be teaching young girls

is what's wrong with all of theese faity tales.

We should be teaching them that they don't need anyone,

and if they want to be with someone it doesn't have to be a prince - 

it can be another princess, too.

We should be teaching these young girls that they can save themselves;

they are not damsels in distress.

The reality is that, in the world we live in,

you can't expect somebody to swoop in and save you.

So, let's teach these young girls

to demand being treated like a princess,

but to save themselves in the end.
